- Bachelor of Speech Pathology, University of Queensland (2001)
- Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP) – Speech Pathology Australia
Nicole (Nikki) Mackenzie is an experienced speech pathologist and the founder of Echo Speech, bringing more than 20 years of clinical expertise to her work with children, families, and the wider community. After graduating from the University of Queensland in 2001, Nikki refined her skills in Ireland and England before returning home to establish Echo Speech in 2010. What began as a small practice has grown into a respected, community-minded service known for its evidence-based therapy, collaborative approach, and unwavering commitment to helping children thrive.
As Director, Nikki is dedicated to creating a workplace where clinicians feel supported, valued, and inspired. She mentors her team with the same care she brings to her clients — fostering a culture where learning is continuous, ideas are shared, and everyone feels part of a long-term professional family. Nikki believes that strong therapeutic outcomes are built on connection, and she champions a model of practice that integrates families, educators, and multidisciplinary partners to ensure every child receives holistic, meaningful support.
Compassionate, creative, and forward-thinking, Nikki is always exploring new ways to deliver high-quality, innovative services to the Port Stephens community. When she’s not leading the Echo Speech team or developing new resources to support clinicians, you’ll often find her curled up with a book, enjoying a quiet beach walk, or combining both — her nose in a novel and her toes in the sand.
